You're a journalist in 1980s England, albeit not our 1980s England. The Taking possession presents an alternative history, one that's recognizable but with all the actors changed. Mix up together Margaret Thatcher's conservative movement with some non-too-subtle nods to the United Kingdom's current Brexit infighting, then layer in some Soviet work.
IT's an unsettling base, and growing more unsettling. A terrorist attack has killed twenty-four civilians. In response the Great Britain's gone the same route as many modern countries, creating the Mating Routine, a sweeping bit of legislation that tramples over existing privacy laws and threatens the foundations of democracy.

I'm as wel confident in thinking The Occupation will manage to make up more all-important and influential than a one hundred perfectly polished blockbusters.
